Here Comes the Bride

I'm engaged.

I don't know what else to say. I've been in this super joyful glowing universe for about a week and a half and I don't want it to end.

The planning for a wedding is already in the works. We are being hounded for a date, as though this is something that needs to be done and over with. We are receiving advise from left and right, people giving us suggestions on how we should do our wedding.

Weddings are like art, everyone has an opinion.

Very little is known at the moment about the big event that is The Wedding, but I really am determined to keep it intimate, low key and very much a stress free celebration. Most people say "Good Luck."

We shall see.

I was given a statistic yesterday by a co-worker who said that on a scale of 1 to 10 a wedding is a 12 for women and about a 3 for men. Then he went on to say in 20 years we will look at one another and in our minds ask, "Are we lovers or are we roommates?"

I'm sure I will have more to say and go through some revelations in terms of my own expectations and assumptions as the months pass. I will share those with you as they come.

For now I am basking in the glowing sun of engagement.

Yay! We are super excited for you both. We got your engagement announcement in the mail yesterday & neither of us could stop smiling. :) We love you guys & are not worried in the least that you will create a beautiful wedding!

I have tons of advice when it comes to planning your wedding. If you need any, just ask. I will just give you one piece & then be done. Do all that you can to plan the wedding before the day - but once the day is here, let it all go & enjoy. I got really caught up in the details & forgot to be ok when things didn't go perfectly. And by that time, there's nothing you can do about it so just let it go. :) There, that's all the unsolicited advice from me!

I can't wait to hear about plans as they develop & am ready to help if anything needs to be done. Love you both!

YEAH!!!! Good advise from Katrina, I would also suggest not to be irritating but something that was essential for me, was theknot.com or a website similar that had a running check off list. It was great b/c i could check things off when I was done with them and they had it in a time line so you knew when you should do it and what you needed to do!
I wasn't stressed before my wedding, b/c I did so much early on, and asked for lots of help!
Good luck and if you need anything, i would be happy to help (if before August when i go to off to school) and I will promise to keep my opinion to myself!
